This is just a teeny snippet into one of our most emotional interviews we've had on the road. Hohepa was placed into the state system at 9 years old. The same age as our twins. We don't want to say a lot about this one, we just hope you watch it. Hohepa was one of 4 incredibly brave men who spoke frankly about their extreme mistreatment while in state care on tv3's The Hui. Between the 1950s and 1980s over 100 thousand children were uplifted from their families and put into state care. Hohepa was one of these children. Many thanks Hohepa for stepping out.
