Stop The Bus

An Interactive Documentary
Imploring New Zealanders to face our problem of child abuse

“New Zealand is an amazing country but
Let’s stop hiding. Let’s be honest.
Let’s talk about this. Let’s open our eyes.
Let’s own this problem. Let’s commit to change.
To make a difference, it involves us all.”

Get Help Know the signs and how to seek help

If it is an Emergency

If it’s an emergency and you suspect a child is at serious risk, or a crime against a child has been committed this must be reported.

IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 111

When it's not an Emergency

If you are worried about a child you can phone Child, Youth and Family on 0508FAMILY for some ideas about what to do. You don't need to give your name.

We recommend visiting the Child Matters Site for important information about child abuse, what you can do if you are concerned about a child, how to recognise the signs and some community support links.

A lot of the time it may not be obvious that a child is at risk, you may need to rely on a hunch or feeling uncomfortable about a situation. Don’t wait until you are certain, always put a child first.
